It was Labor Day weekend in Minnesota, and while most folks were enjoying a last weekend at the cabin or downing corndogs at the State Fair, about 100 of the state’s best high school hockey players were being weighed, measured and tested, taking part in drills and scrimmages and sitting through seminars at the National Sports Center in Blaine, all as part of training camp for this year’s Upper Midwest High School Elite League.
Preparing to launch its 11th season, the Elite League holds its three-day camp to prepare players and coaches for the 21-game regular season while also introducing players to new styles of play and giving them some insight into the opportunities for junior hockey that many of them will have in the future.

Elite League Set for 11th Season

The Upper Midwest High School Elite League will open its second decade of play on Labor Day weekend, when more than 120 players report to the National Sports Center in Blaine for the start of training camp.
Beginning its 11th season, the Elite League has a number of exciting changes in store as it remains a premier source of development for high school hockey players in the Upper Midwest.
