Last season, former Alaska Avalanche defenseman Dan Senkbeil was one of four Avs to skate in the North American Hockey League Top Prospects tournament.
Senkbeil stood out in the league showcase, drew the attention of some of the top programs in the country and eventually signed with perennial college hockey power North Dakota.
Eventually, all four of those players committed with college programs, three at the Division I level.

The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League capped off the first Paint the Town Pink week with two big wins. Not only did the Bruins beat the Alexandria Blizzard 6-3 in the second Paint the Rink Pink game, but they danced and auctioned their way to a $31,000 profit after the game for The Hormel Institute.

It was quite a past couple of days for former North American Hockey League (NAHL) and Texas Tornado goaltenders Ben Bishop and Dan Sullivan, as both received some prestigious honors in their respective leagues the past few days.

The North American Hockey League has announced that the 2012 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, presented by Combat Hockey, will be held from Feb. 20-22, at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Mich. 120 total players from the NAHL will be spread among six teams, who will play in three games each during the event. The event will feature teams from the Central, Midwest, North, South and West Divisions of the NAHL, along with an NAHL 18U Selects team comprised of some of the top players currently playing in the NAHL that were born in 1993 or later.
