Hermantown will have their hands full this week as they take on No. 3 St. Cloud Cathedral Thursday and No. 2 Warroad on Saturday. LPH PHOTO BY JEFF ANDERSONThe Class A Let’s Play Hockey Rankings this week are less about what happened last week and more about what is to come this week.
Top-ranked Hermantown has held the top spot for most of the season, but that could change this week as they are slated to battle No. 3 St. Cloud Cathedral Thursday in St. Cloud and then host No. 2 Warroad on Saturday.
So far the Hawks have maintained a solid 9-2-2 record playing mostly Class AA teams in which they have a 5-2-2 record. They have not lost to a Class A team yet this season.
Warroad is on a 4-game win streak, their last loss coming to Grand Forks (ND). Their lone loss of the season was to Cathedral in their second game. The Crusaders, meanwhile, have survived some injuries and look to be back on track with a hard-fought 3-2 win over No. 13 Cloquet/Esko/Carlton.
East Grand Forks and Mahtomedi round out the top 5 as Delano fell to No. 7 after a pair of losses.
Monticello continues to play well and Proctor has continued their climb and makes an appearance at No. 10 this week after taking Hermantown to overtime and defeating Class AA squad Duluth Denfeld 3-1.
