Rosemount, Benilde-St. Margaret’s make big jumps into Top 10

Minnetonka maintained top billing on Class AA Boys Hockey in this week’s Let’s Play Hockey Rankings presented by Tradition Companies.

The Skippers improved to 4-0 on the season. After a season-opening win over Rosemount, they have had three consecutive shutouts over Andover, Stillwater, and Eastview. Rosemount, who scored three goals in their 10-3 loss to Minnetonka in the season opener, is the only team to score against the Skippers thus far.

Speaking of the Irish, they had a big week with wins over White Bear Lake (ranked No. 7) and East Ridge to jump into the top 10 at No. 10 after being unranked a week ago. They also have a 2-1 win over No. 7 Chanhassen.

Also making a huge leap is Benilde-St. Margaret’s who beat No. 4 Edina 3-1. The Red Knights were ranked 16th last week and jumped 10 spots to No. 6. They outshot the Hornets 34-23 in their victory.

Rogers, with a convincing 6-2 win over Moorhead, jumped Edina into the No. 3 spot. Wayzata took care of Duluth East 6-0 to keep the No. 2 spot.

Andover jumped back into the top 10 and Holy Family and Centennial also made leaps in the rankings this week.
