The top 10 in Class AA doesn’t change much this week with exception to Chanhassen making a big jump and Andover taking a bit of a dip out of the Top 10.
Top-ranked Minnetonka stayed unbeaten with a narrow 3-2 overtime win over Chanhassen. The Storm, meanwhile, jumped all the way up to No. 4 in the rankings despite still having a losing record at 2-3-0. They will have to prove their standing with a couple tough games this week against No. 13 St. Thomas Academy tonight and No. 3 Rogers on Saturday.
Many schools with multiple losses thus far have undeniably strong schedules against top-notch opponents. While this doesn’t always help in the win-loss column or when it comes to rankings, it’s a huge boost in developing and getting stronger as the season wears on.
Rogers maintained the No. 3 spot after a 1-1 tie with No. 11 Shakopee who jumped two spots. Shakopee’s Aleksi Huson had 60 saves in the game as the Sabres improved to 5-1-1.
The rest of the Top 10 stayed relatively the same with Hill-Murray bouncing down the list a couple spots and Holy Family sneaking into the Top 10 after a pair of wins to open their season.
