Top five goes unbeaten, remains intact

The top five in the girls Class A Let’s Play Hockey Rankings presented by Tradition Companies remained the same with those five teams going undefeated last week. there was some switching in the top 10 with Mound Westonka/Southwest Christian leaping to No. 7 after a pair of wins including a win over formerly No. 7 Breck 3-1 and another win over No. 18 Pine City Area 5-2. Mound has had success with a balanced scoring attack with 13 different players finding the back of the net so far. They also have had great goaltending from Ashyln Roth who has a .918 save percentage and 1.98 goals against average.

South St. Paul also hopped back into the top 10 with a pair of wins last week. They also had a tough 5-3 loss to No. 6 Proctor/Hermantown. South St. Paul’s Lily Pachl has led the way with 12 goals and 12 assists in 12 games. The junior is committed to Harvard University.

Breck dropped to No. 11 in the rankings after their loss to Mound Westonka/Southwest Christian. There are only a couple votes separating the No. 8-12 teams in the rankings, which is conducted by polling high school coaches.
