The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The top three teams in the Class A rankings all lost last week, yet they all maintained their positions in the Let’s Play Hockey Rankings, presented by Tradition Companies.

Orono lost to No. 9AA Maple Grove 2-1 in overtime Dec. 19, but rebounded to beat No. 13AA Holy Family 3-2 on Dec. 21.

Academy of Holy Angels battled No. 5AA Benilde-St. Margaret’s and lost a close 1-0 battle, and No. 3 Warroad took open No. 7AA Moorhead and lost 3-2.

Duluth Marshall stayed at No. 4 and are now 13-1-0 while Proctor/Hermantown jumps back into the top five with two more wins. They have won five straight and have outscored opponents 23-6.

Hutchinson and Moose Lake Area make the top 20 this week with still plenty of hockey left to play.
