Top 10 teams fare well on Friday night

Girls Hockey Results from Dec. 1, 2023

No.  2-ranked Warroad hosted Class AA’s No. 11 squad Champlin Park/Coon Rapids Friday night and the Warriors overcame a 3-0 deficit to score four unanswered goals in a 4-3 win.

Caitlin Easton, June Semling and Sydney Burnevik scored for the Bluebirds to give them a 3-0 cushion atteh 10:00 mark of the second period. But just 44 seconds after Burnevik made it 3-0, Warroad’s Taylor Reese scored to make it 3-1. Emmie Hardwick scored to make it 3-2 heading into the third where Madilyn Skogman tied it at the 3:43 mark. The game-winner came when Sophie Johnson scored with 3:14 left with Hardwick and Skogman assistsing. Payton Rolli had 26 saves to earn the win in goal. Warroad outshot the Bluebirds 30-29. Bluebird goalie Madelyn Wostrel also had 26 saves.

No. 7 Dodge County improved to 6-0 on the season with a 9-0 win over New Prague. Hannah Peterson and Macy Koch each scored twice and Abby Simons had four assists. Taryn Wernecke add a goal and two assists in the win.

In Class AA No. 5 Benilde-St. Margaret’s held on to defeat No. 19 Roseau 3-2. Ella Pasqua had a goal and an assist to lead the winning effort. Brynn Heising and Lizzy Hamel also scored for BSM. Ella Ketring and Jerrett Tietz scored for the Rams.

Ella Holm and Lauren Heneman each had a pair of goals to lead No. 7 Moorhead to their second straight win with a 8-1 victory over Alexandria. Holm added two assists and Olivia Kortan addad two goals and two assists for the Spuds.

No. 9-ranked Holy Family defeated Rock Ridge 9-2 with eight different players lighting the lamp. Jenna Allen scored twice. Also scoring for the Fire were: Ruby Lenk, Angela Cody, Ella Sharkey, Ella Nonweiler, Katya Sander, Casey Cronin and Kendall Gnos. Natalie Bergman had both goals for Rock Ridge.

Mercury Bischoff had four goals and an assist, Kyle Debay had three goals and an assist and Molly Pierce had four assists as Grand Rapids/Greenway beat Shakopee 10-1 in Shakopee.

No. 13A Fergus Falls defeated Thief River Falls 3-0 with goals coming from Rylynn Krein, Averie Tonneson, and Aubrey Nelson.

A hat trick by Ana Meyers led Gentry Academy to a 5-3 win over No. 19A Chisago Lakes.

Brainerd/Little Falls edged Duluth 3-1 thanks to a 35-save effort by Ericah Folden. Levi LeMieur, Molly Pohlkamp and Kristina Bailif scored for Brainerd/Little Falls.

Natasha Ludwig had two goals and an assist to lead Prairie Centre past Worthington 3-1 and Kennedy Lemke added 26 saves.
