Warroad maintained the top spot in the Let’s Play Hockey Class A Girls High School Hockey Rankings with a 3-1 win over No. 3A Breck Saturday in Warroad.

Jaylie French scored twice and Payton Rolli stopped 23 shots as the Warriors held off the young and fast Mustangs and handed them their first loss of the 2025-26 season.

French scored her sixth goal of the season less than 90 seconds into the game assisted by Olivia Anthony and Karlee Kalbrener. The teams skated scoreless for the rest of the frame and then Breck tied it up early in the second when Aleah LaFleur scored on a power play assisted by Alexis Ulrich and Mackenna Schlieman just 34 seconds into the period. Once again the team skated the rest of the period without a goal and entered the third locked at 1-1.

But French found twine again for her seventh goal of the season. Anthony and Vivienne Marcowka both assisted on the power play goal as the Warriors took advantage of an interference penalty late in the second that carried over into the third.

Ava Corrington then added an insurance goal at 11:27 of the third and Rolli and the Warroad defense did the rest, holding the Mustangs to just six shots in the third period.

The win improved the Warriors to 7-2-0 and was their fourth straight. Their two losses on the season have come to No. 1AA Holy Family and No. 6AA Bemidji.
