Taylor Schreifels

#1 Andover 2, #4 Forest Lake 1 OT

Andover avoided a huge upset when Taylor Schreifels netted the game winning goal in overtime as the Huskies, ranked No. 8 in the LPH Poll, survived a scare from a good Forest Lake squad. Maya Engler and Hanna Olson assisted.

It stayed that way until the end of regulation and despite the mounting pressure of Andover, Thompson was up to the challenge, stopping all 19 shots in the final frame. She stopped six more in overtime before Schreifels sent the Huskies back to the section 7AA final, a game they have won the past seven seasons.

Thompson finished with 55 saves as the Huskies outshot the Rangers 57-6. It was also a huge game for Schreifels, a sophomore defenseman, who notched goals six and seven on the season.

Forest Lake finishes their season 15-6-6 and will bring back a slew of young talent next season, including Thompson and leading scorer Sklavenitis (19-11-30).
